It has been an Honor and a Privelege to get to know Ed Pratt and Carol. Ed has been an inspiration and helpful beyond what words can express. I am comforted by the wonderful memories he has given to me to cherish. I will deeply miss his wisdom, his stories, and his songs till we meet again on Fiddlers Green.

To the family of Edward Pratt. Our sincerest simpathies and prayers go out to you in your hour of loss. We have both lost parents and it is never easy to go through these times. Only the Lord can heal the brokeness and hurt that one feels when they lose a loved one. May God be with you all and strengthen and encourage you through this time of loss. Sincerely, Bob & Lila Mensinger (parents of Carla's fiance, Van Mensinger).

I served with Ed, both summers and winters, as crew for Friends Good Will. Ed was a tremendous resource for our program, but more importantly, a tremendous example of how shipmates should work together, teach each other and look out for one another. His rare sense of humor allowed him to laugh at himself first and join with others in laughter at every opportunity. Ed was an old salt in every positive sense of the word. He likely had forgotten more about seamanship and marlinspike skills than many of us will ever know and the manner in which he was always willing to take the time to teach, gently, softly, one step at a time, with the utmost patience and respect, was admirable. His departure over the bar will be a real loss to the program, even while our memories of Ed should serve as inspiration for us for the future. I am sure we all can imagine Ed, now standing at the starboard rail, waving back to us as we sail along without him aboard; with Ed finally enjoying a cruise for which there is, at last, no work for him as a member of a new crew. Fair winds, Ed. -Jim

Carol, Our wonderful neighbors, our wonderful friends...You made us feel at home in a new community. It was offically summer when Eds garden was planted and the grill was fired up. The evenings in your back yard, shoes kicked off having a beer and listening to Ed play the guitar. Summer will never be the same. All our love to you and your family. Tom & Linda

We are so saddened by the death of Mr. Pratt. We have lived in the same neighborhood for many years; and I just saw on the Filbrandt website that he passed away. I am so sorry we did not find out sooner, as we certainly would have paid our respects. Gilles and I and our family send our love and sympathy to the family. What a wonderful gentleman he was; and will be missed a great deal.
