Rich was a kind and gentle man who always asked about the well-being of people we knew. His energy was boundless. You never knew where or when you would run into Rich and he always had a smile. He will be missed.

Rich was a very special, caring man who made life for me in South Haven a life of great security knowing he was always there to help or give guidance whenever needed. I called him my Michigan brother and he and Judy extended a sense of family to me. The three of us had wonderful, fun dinners together. Rich loved nature and animals. My Greyhounds would get so excited when they would see him coming in his truck.
Judy, please know my thoughts, prayers and love are with you. I will continue to look to Rich's spirit to guide me as his wisdom, ideas about life and strength will be present to me.

To the family of Rich Higgins. We met Rich as he provided security services for a friend in South Haven, Prior to arrival for our annual "girls" (we're all in our fifties) week-end, Rich would open the house, turn up the heat and leave on the outside light. We could count on him stopping by at least once to check in with the property owner (Mary Wong) and we would all chat. He was wonderful! Always a joke to start our day, a mention of happenings in the area or a clever remark about our “girls” get-away. He was a vibrant, interesting and courteous gentlemen. A member of the greatest generation. He will be missed.

Higgins was a great person who always made sure he took care of the people that helped him out. Wether a couple dollar tip just to put 2 pounds of air in one tire, or five dollar tip for changing his oil. He always had something funny to say and a smile on his face. He always made sure to ask how my "lady" is doing whenever i seen him. His presence will be missed.

Mr. Higgins would always come into our State Farm office in Bangor, remove his hat and ask how we were. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for each of us. We will miss his smile, his kind words and his jokes. He was truly one of a kind and we are all very grateful that we got to know him.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Higgins' passing. I just heard of it today or I would have been there in person to express my condolences. Mr. Higgins helped me with work at my home...for many years. He was always polite and gracious....friendly and loving with my beloved daughter, Kristen while she lived...whenever we saw him downtown or at the house. He was a man to be admired. Love to all the family....

You were really a man full of life. I have met people your age who gave up on life but you kept looking forward to see what the next day brought. I always admired that about you. I know I am late but I hope where ever you at up there in the sky, you are having one heck of a time!
