Ila, my friend, my mentor, my "Patient". You have touched my life with such love and grace. The countless hours we have spent together over the years in so many different venues, studying, sharing, learning, laughing, serving, crying and supporting each other, me as your nurse and you as a mentor. It's hard to imagine Mitch without you by his side. We know we must all pass away, but this my friend is breaking my heart to have to say goodbye. To have known you was truly a gift from God. You will be missed by so many but you have made your mark during your 86 years here on earth. The life you lived will continue to touch many because of the example you were. GLYASDI!

Ila was a wonderful member of the Scott Club of South Haven who strongly supported the goal of maintaining its historical building.  Her sweet smile and courteous manner was her own personal outreach to long-time members and to new  members of the Club.  Her quiet demeanor made each person know that she was truly interested in them.  Never complaining or relating her ills, she set a perfect example of how to live graciously.
Scott Club will miss her greatly.

Mitch and Family
   I was saddened to hear of Ila's passing. She will always have a special place in my heart.  I was blessed to have worked for you for all those years.  If it was not for you and Ila hiring me, I might not be doing what I do today.  I learned very much from you, and for that I will always be grateful.  You not only taught me about the newspaper, but your Christian morals and living were also an example to me.  God's blessing be with you.
