Mary's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Mary here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Barry and I were so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. We have wonderful memories of your Mom and Dad at South Haven Country Club and your Mom and I had fun times golfing together on the Thursday Ladies League.....we were the rare "walkers". We will be out of town on Saturday so are unable to attend the service for your Mom, but you are all in our thoughts and prayers and we'll hold those loving memories close to our hearts. I hope my Dad(Gerry Sherman) can make it to the service because your parents meant a lot to both my Mom and Dad and I know they had fun times together! God bless you all!

Dear Jane, Kathy, Ray and families,
I do not even know where to begin. Our families have been so close our whole lives..best friends. I will never forget the vacations, the get to gethers and the beautiful bridal shower your mom had for me 33 years ago. Mary was like a second mom to me and my mom could not have chosen a better Godmother for me. My strong faith today is because of the example she set. Probably about now Clarence and Mary and Dad and Mom are playing cards in Heaven... Dick is cheating and Mary is laughing her infectious laugh.
I loved her and will miss her so very much. Love to all of you.

Jane, Kathy, Ray...
With your mom's passing, the circle of all the great South Haven friends together again has comes to pass.
The Lundys, the Drenths, the Chappells, the Shinskes, and the Shanleys. What a reunion that must be!
Kathy and I have several photo albums from the early and mid-40s when our folks went on all those vacations together...out West...down South. Jane you're old enough (haha) to have gone on at least one of those with our brother Ricky. I'm so envious.
Of course the story that stands-out among all the zillions is the time when just the two couples were on a vacation together, sharing a villa. One night they were playing bridge with the guys vs. the girls...and your dad and mine were cheating under the table...winning every single hand. Finally it got to the point where your dad was laughing so hard he went into actual hysterics and your mom grew so worried she took him into their bedroom. In there a long while my dad grew worried also and stuck his head in their door...and your dad completely lost it all over again. Somehow that seems to be the most appropriate image of them to remember.
While it's so painful that they are no longer with us, how fortunate we were growing-up and living well into our adult years with the four of them as such great parents and examples of how life should be lived. See you guys Saturday and I'll bring the photo albums. Love, Barry

P.S. How interesting, and poignant, that your mother passed away on my parent's 74th wedding anniversary. Best friends sharing another milestone together. Must have wanted her to join the party in Heaven.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. Lonny and I loved watching them walk by every day. We thought they were so cute together! We used to watch for them coming and take them a bag of perch! She was Mom and Dad Niles closest friends.

Ray,
I heard this morning about your mom's passing into eternal life. I had opportunity to meet her a few years ago when I was visiting my father in the same facility. What a "peach" of a women she was! I pray you and your family find comfort in Jesus Christ and his promises to us all that one day we'll be reunited with our loved ones in heaven! Rejoice, the victory is won!

Ray and all the family, So sorry for your loss. I met your Mom way back as a kid when going Lundy Electric with my folks. Both your parents were always so kind and as I grew up they would always stop and chat wherever I would run in to them. Great people and now they are together again! My deepest sympathies to you all. My Mom also sends her condolences to all of you.
