If my father were alive I know he would want to send condolences to the family because he really liked Ron. He used to always say "Ron's a good egg". So, please let me do that for him. Ron was always admired by the Shanleys. Rest in peace.

Ron Colton was a gentleman - strong, firm and kind. He gave me the benefit of the doubt a couple times and taught me some very important lessons, and I appreciated that. Mrs. Colton was also such a kind and gracious person. May God give you His perfect peace in this challenging time. Dave Decker

To the family of Sgt. Ronald Colton of South Haven. I served under Ronald at the South Haven Post; my first post after graduation from the academy. Ronald was a corporal then and eventually they restructured the ranking making him a Sgt. I had previous law enforcement experience of 3-1/2 years before coming into the State Police; however, further guidance and corrective instruction by Ronald made me a better road patrol officer and a better all-around trooper. I remember Ronald discussing his tennis and I often thought about challenging him to a game or match. I was purely a novice and didn't become serious until I was in my 40's and had two boy's of my own to challenge! Only one of my boy's became serious with tennis and so are his off-spring. My prayers and blessings go out to Ronald's family and I am sure he is with his Lord and Saviour sharing his wisdom with his parents and relatives that have gone on before him.

I have the fondest memories of Ron Colton and remember vividly when the Colton family moved to the neighborhood. They were a great addition to our close knit community and have been wonderful neighbors for many years. Mr. Colton was always kind, patient and fatherly to all the kids in the area. He also had a great sense of humor and a warm, welcoming smile. I'll remember him as one of the most gracious and kind-hearted men I've ever known. My thoughts and sympathy go out to Dorothy, Scott and Greg......
