Brother-in-Law

From the first day that I met you
You took me as your little friend
I knew I could always count on you
No matter what life sends

You always had time to listen

You showed how much you cared

I gained another brother I was just a kid

As a brother, you were great

Aunt Cathy, Molly, Angie, Jon, Bart & Laura,
It's hard to put into words just what a shock it was to hear this news. We are so saddened and sorry. My Dad called and told Mike. We happened to be together at my house. It felt very unreal to he this. Mike and I were just silent from the shock. It was hard to take in. Uncle Randy has meant so much to us. We really loved him. We talked all that morning about Randy and our family. There are so many memories. Most involve Uncle Randy being his usual generous self. He was just cool. No other way to put it. I wish I could see him one more time, give him a huge hug and tell him, thank you and just how much I love him. Someday I believe I will be able to. I love you all. Know that we are thinking about you and praying for you. Dan

Dear Kathy, Molly, Angie and Bart,

I can’t comprehend just how sad you must feel
For the loss of someone you love.
This sorrowful time must still feel unreal
And you’re looking for strength from above.

I hope, from my heart, that your pain will decrease,

I am so sorry for your loss, Big Randy will always be with us for he has made an impact on everyone that knew him.

Dear Cathy and Family, Randy's Dad and my Dad were first cousins, and grew up together. I had the pleasure of catching up with Randy this past summer at Dr. Maly's office. I loved seeing the "Adkin" mannerisms, looks, and just the whole "way of being" in him. He made time to talk to me about our family relationship, and was just truly sincere in wanting to catch up with a "second cousin". I will never forget it. I have been told by many that I look more like his sister than anyone else! I just felt & saw the "Adkin" in him, and it made me happy. It made me remember my Dad, my Uncles, and just all of the Adkin family. It was such a blessing to talk to him. He hugged me and called me "cousin". These relationships have gone by the wayside. My sincerest condolences to all of you. He was one of a kind! He will not be forgotten.

My prayers and condolences go out to Randy's family during this difficult time. I was as shocked as everyone else to hear the news of my long time friend.

"Cool Man" and I have a long history together as many of you have. We were high school classmates as well as teammates in football, basketball, and baseball, roommates and baseball teammates at WMU, worked together on Adkin's Blueberry Farm, and... well, that's enough for one post.

To say Randy will be missed by many is an understatement as is evidenced by the posts you see here. Many stories, many good times, many memories. It may be the 10th inning for you here on earth, my friend, but your memory and legacy will last far into extra innings for those of us still in the game. Thanks for the good times. "Buckaroo"

We at Hanson Logistics were all saddened to hear of the passing of Randy. Each of us enjoyed working with Randy --he was bigger than life and had a kind heart. I will always remember a recent business meeting in which, rather than meeting with us in the office, Randy hosted us for lunch in his home. He was so excited to cook us hot dogs on his new grill and to have us feel welcome in his home. We had a great meeting and a wonderful time there and the memory of it will remain with me. Randy will be missed. We extend to the entire family our deepest sympathies!

My condolescences to the Adkin family. I will always remember my time spent with Randy as some of the most enjoyable and interesting times in my life. I had the pleasure of spending time with Randy riding our Harleys over the Sierra Nevada mountains, thru the Rockies, across the Badlands and searching for the elusive Blue Marlin in Panama, Cabo and Venezuela. Randy's zest for life and adventure was contageous and he lived every day as if it was his last. I will truely miss him.

As we make our way through another blueberry season, and deal with all the changes that come our way, I can't help but always remember Randy, and the confidence that he instilled in each and everyone of us and how he taught us to deal with situations that we are confronted with, his encouragement, and advice always got us through it all. I enjoyed many years of working with him, he taught me many things. Really missing him this year,sure wish I could talk to him one more time. I'm sure he's looking down and watching the family run the bussiness that he loved and enjoyed, I'm sure there's a sense of pride in his heart and is proud of how it's going. He will always hold a special place in my heart, and Iam forever thankful for all he did for me and all he taught me.
