We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Donald here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
I was blessed to have both Don and Sue as teachers at St. Paul's Lutheran. Don was always supportive of my mother having my sister and I at choir with her. He was also a great music teacher and encouraged my parents to let me participate in choir. That is my favorite memory of him.

Dear Family, Our deepest sympathy goes out to you as we send all the love our hearts can hold for you and for Don. Words are never enough when loved ones pass from earth into Glory, but as I picture his great smile as he walks through heavens gates and tunes his ear to hear the angel choir, I know as do you that he has found his great reward! May you find peace and comfort in the love that surrounds us all and joy as we await our turn to join him at Jesus' feet. He will be sorely missed. Much loveβ£

Dear family members, Mr. H. taught two of our sons and managed to hold on to his sanity. He was a friend to us, our choir director, and a wonderful Christian role model for us. We always enjoyed Christmas carrolling and the wonderful get-together afterwards when he welcomed us into his home. We have many, many good memories. He will be missed.

What a wonderful man, a wonderful husband, a wonderful father, and a wonderful, caring teacher to our children. He impacted so many children's lives he was truly a blessing from God! He was very important to our family and will be greatly missed but our loss is The Lord's gain. May God comfort Mrs. H and his family during this time of grief. God walked into the garden of life and picked himself a rose.

Dear Mrs. Holzhueter, Kurt, Donna, Kallie, Katie, Karl, and Lori, We mourn with you at this great loss. Mr. H embodied true Christian faith and servant love toward others. He gave of himself and his time to show Christ's love in many ways and excelled at teaching, directing choirs, gardening, and more. We can rejoice that Grandpa H has gone to Heaven to live forever and sing in the angel choir. I had the privilege to sing in the choir with Mr. H. and to treasure him as a wonderful friend to our family and my sister's father-in-law. We shared many wonderful times together cheering on Kallie and Katie at various sporting events and award ceremonies plus birthday, Christmas, and Easter parties. Dan and I will miss Mr. Holzhueter and his caring smile. He always had something to talk about with us-- either teaching, gardening, reading, sports, or Kallie and Katie-- we always had something too chat about with him. What a blessing to have had him in our lives for many years...we will miss him, but we know that he lives on in our hearts and in his sons and granddaughters. Love to each of you, Linda and Dan

It has been rewarding to have contact with the elder Holzhueters and I always looked forward to seeing them. They have been people of accomplishment and their example asks us to do what we are able with our lives. Easter is upon us and each loss of someone so dear increases our investment in eternity. We know that in Christ we are to be reunited. Affection and prayers, Royal Grewe

Don was a good friend, and will be missed. I was in the choir at St. Paul's the last time he conducted us. What a blessing! He was so talented. I wish I were able to be with the family for his funeral, but I have a medical appointment that I cannot miss.
